pretty much yeah but not like a little bit of skin as in a whole load of it where your skin turns a red color and it almost becomes addictive to do, people claim they have it a lot but actually they have just peeled off some loose skin once or twice, if you google image it thats what it can look like, a lot of the time it's a lot worse (im a serious wolf biter so i know a lot about it haha)

wolf biting (aka dermatophagia) is where a person picks the skin off their finger ends, usually near the nail, it usually starts at a young age and it becomes compulsive and is very hard to stop doing (apparently as hard as self harm, seeing as that it can be seen a form of self harm) so maybe ryan finds an interest in people who are 'wolf biters' or maybe he is one, or maybe to him and his friends its an inside joke
